What is Wbuild?
Wbuild is a real estate investment ecosystem powered by blockchain technology where anyone can invest from $50.

Through our collaborating and co-investing platform Wbuild improves access to global real estate investments while encouraging sustainable practice adoption.

What is blockchain?
In its most basic form, blockchain is a system to record information in a way that makes it practically impossible to be changed. It constitutes a list of records called blocks, that are secured together using cryptography and are timestamped. «The timestamp proves that the transaction data existed when the block was published…. As blocks each contain information about the block previous to it, they form a chain, with each additional block reinforcing the ones before it. Therefore, blockchains are resistant to modification of their data because once recorded, the data in any given block cannot be altered retroactively without altering all subsequent blocks.» (Wikipedia).

With blockchain, security of records is substantially improved and because it is an open network, it ensures full transparency of transactions. Applied to real estate transactions, this allows for more cost effective ways to transfer funds, secure ownership rights, validate records, amongst many other uses.

What is real estate tokenization?
Real estate tokenization is the process in which any real estate asset is converted into a limited number of tokens (digital assets) that represent fractional ownership of the asset. Tokens cannot be duplicated or altered, are recorded on the blockchain and can be easily transferred.

Simply put, tokenization is a way of securitization or dividing the property of a company into shares. The real estate asset is placed under the ownership of an LLC (Limited Liability Company), which issues shares in the same amount as tokens to represent them. Therefore, one token represents one share of the company owning the asset, hence fractional ownership of that asset.

What happens if Wbuild runs out of business?
Each LLC continues to exist and own the investment with total independence to whatever happens to Wbuild. The tokens entitle you to the ownership of the investment and if Wbuild were to be liquidated, a new managing party would be appointed.
